Entire Valve Staff Fired Due to Video Leak

As it turns out, the Meet The Spy video was leaked without permission, and as a result, the entire Valve staff has been fired.  So...  I guess Valve is hiring!

Lots more on their blog, starting here.

Meet the Spy Video

Another Meet The... video, this time "leaked" overnight by the feature of the film. Quite a bit of violence in the video, but that's to be expected.

Diabolical!

Sniper and Spy Updates for Team Fortress 2

Development continues on TF2, now like eighty years after it's been released. I'd be upset if I bought it on PS3 or 360.

But for us PC players, the sniper and spy are getting class updates, following the updates for medic, heavy, pyro, and scout classes. Pretty soon they'll actually have done all the classes, and they'll have to move on to another game or something.

Sniper and spy details can be viewed here.

Team Fortress 2 Scout Updates

New Scout class updates are here, as Valve has previously announced!  However, the last announced update is the new scattershot, called the Force-A-Nature.  I thought it was pretty interesting that Valve allowed the community to vote on what order the upgrades would become available.  Definately looking forward to trying those out!  Have to get some fools together for some blasting.

Where the Hell is Team Fortress 2?

Just saw this video and had to share. Definately made me laugh.

Milden LAN Nov. 2008 Recap - Part II

Also, I'm not sure what I did to piss Heather off, but she was backstabbing me all day. Don't let the Pyro getup fool you -- that's a Spyro!

Milden LAN Nov. 2008 Recap - Part I

Well, the LAN this past weekend went pretty well. Much TF2, CoH, and RA3 was played, as I suspected. The surrounding pictures are evidence of a historic and hilarious defense on Dustbowl. This is a notorious killing zone for the defending team, but the shooting-gallery style fun is no less entertaining. Check out my two partners in crime!

TF2 Fun and Updates

Somehow I always get pitted against Jin in multiplay games. UT3, StarCraft, and now TF2. He got me several times. He was just on fire, hur hur hur....

Anyway, we had a fun session yesterday evening. Mike joined us as well, and I decided to stretch my experience in the game. I'd never really played an engineer, and before I nearly always took the teleporters, dispensers, and friendly turrets for granted.

Man the class is hard to play well.

Construction placement is so nuanced. I don't know the maps incredibly well, so it's difficult to find the place for turrets in chokepoints, or place dispensers and teleporters close enough to the action but not close enough that everyone gets killed. Definately requires practice.

But I spent most of the evening as a healbot. Earlier I was playing as backup to Mike's heavy. We had several good uber charges. But here's him in his astute soldier guise. Note the jutting jaw and dull grin.

Not only is TF2 fun to play, it's free to play, once you actually purchase the game, unlike those poor souls on Live. In addition, when the PC crew will get free updates and a new map sometime later in april, it's like consolers will have to either pay or not get it at all. Seems like a pretty crappy deal to me.

Unfortunately for PC gamers, it seems those of us who were smart enough to pick up the Orange Box while it was available made the smart choice. Word on the street is that Portal and TF2 will be $20 and $30 respectively, and that Orange Box may no longer be offered on the PC. Not that those definately aren't worth the money; they are. It's just that Orange Box is, for lack of a better term, $100 pounds of awesome in a $50 pound Orange Box.

A little Team Fortress 2

Had to jump online and play some TF2 last night. Got on a pretty good server. It was the home of the Ars Clan, apparently not related to ArsTechnica, which was the first thought in my mind. But it was a pretty hilarious group of people nonetheless. One match on 2Fort the admin turned on all chat and people were yammering on and on about random stuff, cracking me up, and Kasey as well.

I enjoy TF2. The classes are all very interesting, even if I've just stuck mostly to Soldier and Medic so far, having just played a few hours. Had one great match supporting a heavy and breaking right into the opposing team's area just as the ubercharge filled up. Kill assists galore.

And then this jerk showed up, killing me, stealing my intelligence. I swear. With friends like these, who needs enemies, eh? Luckily I managed to outlast him. And by outlast, I mean stay on the server longer than him and avoid his rockets in his absence. Whew.

We definitely need to get the crew together for some additional TF2. I'd really like to get that achievement that requires you to play with seven other people on your friends list.

Do I have that many friends?
